Hi! This card was made for today's Ways to Use it Challenge: Very Vintage. Participants were to use something "vintage" or "vintage like" on their cards.
When I first saw this stamp set: Side by Side, I KNEW I was going to "antique" it. I LOVE "vintagey" images and use them a LOT for personal cards, my scrapbooks and for enhancing 3-D objects.
I used VINTAGE BUTTONS on this card. These buttons were part of a button covered belt that belonged to my Great Grandmother. About a year ago, my Grandmother gave me the belt, which was in tatters, an antique sewing basket, and various sewing essentials. She said, "I know that belt will be used on MANY cards! I expect at least one of them!" She's already received 3! LOL
I used a butter knife to rough up the edges on the background and the strips of dp. Next, I sponged on Espresso to get that vintage look. The image was stamped onto Very Vanilla and colored in with Copics. I sponged on Creamy Caramel and then Espresso, using the stipple brush for depth.
