My "VSN all day" plans were promptly changed yesterday when my mom backed her SUV into her van that had just been gotten from the repair shop the prior evening. To boost her spirits I took her out for dinner and shopping. While we had a lovely time I only had 2 hours of stamping time last night! So the 5 projects I crammed into those 2 hours definitely fall into the "less is more" category. LOL Ladies, thanks once again for hosting VSN. It's an event I look forward to every time it rolls around = )

I almost needed therapy after finishing this crazy card. It was supposed to be so simple but the stamping gods said "NOT SO!" By this time in my stamping my table is a mess - to the point I'm working on a very small corner of it because the rest is covered with well intended tools, stamps, papers - you get the picture. My intention was to attach bay leaves as an embellishment. I grabbed my little sewing machine and set it on the table to sew this card and set the machine on top of the bay leaves that were on top of my nicely embossed scalloped circle, ruining the circle! ARGH!!! While staring at the mess I remembered a VSN last year where we colored with leaves so I promptly crushed the heck out of the bay leaves, sponged the color around on the scalloped circle, and implemented it into this project. Tada! Love it when you can salvage mistakes = )

What a fantastic idea! I didn't have anything that could be used for this challenge but I will definately keep that idea in mind if one like this comes up again!!

What a clever girl! I'm glad I read your story, 'cuz I was wondering where the spices were... I totally saved this to my favorites - it's just so beautiful! I think I'll use ink for my sponging, though... Congrats on your 'Best Chef' nod for this challenge!
