Today we were to use a summer activity for our theme. Well, I know this isn't your normal summer activity. BUT, I love the smell of clothes and sheets fresh off the line. There is just something about fresh air, so refreshing. I remember as a young child, my Dad hanging his long underwear on the line in the winter. They would freeze. Then our lovely dog would grab them and drag them around the yard. I would laugh, Dad would scream NO! Oh what fun memories. So hanging your clothes outside should mainly be done in the summer time. Thus, a summer activity........now on to the card............
I drew the clothes line poles, colored with prisma pencils and gamsol. Made two copies of them so I could layer them. Cut them all out.
Used MS punch for the fence and some ink to age it.
Stamped my clothes, which are new this month from Clear Dollar Stamps. I couldn't get it to link to the site, will come back later and try again. Colored the clothes with copic markers. Cut them out.
On a white cs panel, I sponged the grass area, then the clouds with RR cloud stencil.
Layered some colored cs on a white card, then put my bg scene. Put up the clothes line using wire for the line. Then hung up my laundry.
Added the sentiment. Wal-la, a card. Well, hope you like looking at my clean laundry, it smells so fresh and clean! lol .......TFL :0)

This is such a terrific card! I love it! I, too, have fond memories of hanging laundry on the line with our children, my grandma and great-grandma. Man, there was an art form to it. What a clever idea and I think that is a perfect summer activity. Nothing like crawling into crisp, clean, fresh air scented sheets. Nostalgia aside, your cutting and coloring are just beautiful. I love the accent of the fence in the background. The clothes really look like they're flapping in the breeze. I would love the link for this stamp when you find it!
Thanks for the trip down wonderful memory lane and sharing your creativity.

Wow these colors are awesome. I love that clothesline - both my neighbors have them and I am always so tempted to go hang my sheets up on them. I remember my mother hanging clothes out too - I know she hung them all out (undies and all - my kids would freak about that now). Great drawing too. Such a fun, fun card.
