This is my card for the Flourishes August challenge - fit for royalty. Since I didn't use a Flourishes stamp for the Tuesday challenge, I did want to use one for the August theme. I've always wanted to try stamping on velvet - at least now I know my self-adehesive velvet doesn't have enough pile to stamp the way you are meant to - but the pile IS so thin that you can actually stamp very well on it with ink. Must go and unplug the iron!!
The base is A2 black, stamped with an unknown crown in Encore Gold. The chair from Chairs for You was stamped on self-adhesive velvet paper with Versafine black. I punched the top corners and bottom edge, and layered it on matt gold card, after adding a small black paper strip just above the scallops. I went around the edges with a black Sharpie marker, and then added gold gems in the scallops and red in the top corners. I painted some of the chair with H2Os gold paint. Then I just added some gold organza ribbon and a Hero Arts birthday sentiment stamped and embossed with gold, edged with a gold pen and two little red star gems attached.
TFL.
Hard to get the texture of the velvet when it's late evening here, but you can imagine it . IRL it's also less bright red - more sort of theatre curtains.

Royal, indeed, Sabrina!! I love the red velvet and gold ribbon. Gold embossing furthers the royal feel!! Lovely job on this challenge!!
