I made this for my DH's birthday. I am perhaps fortunate that my married name is Knight and DH has always loved Robin Hood, castles, knights and dragons etc which makes cardmaking for him a WHOLE lot easier. I called the card 'My Brave Knight' because he is the bravest man I know.
Note that each layer of the card has been antiqued with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. The image is by Elzybells and is called "George" - http://www.elzybells.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=490 and was stamped onto Elzybells smooth white cs with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and was popped up on 2 mm mounts. The banner is actually a sticker from a set of 12 stickers by Karen Foster called "My Brave Knight" #10509. I adhered the banner to a scrap of grey-blue cs and cut a small border around it and then "antiqued" it before attaching it to the card using 3mm mounts.
The buttons are by Basic Grey - Granola and I tied some twine in the centres before attaching them to the card with a glue dot. Before I cut the twine, I ran Fray Stop liquid along the length I needed and let it dry (takes about 15 mins). That way the twine doesn't unravel and fray which makes threading the buttons with it a whole lot easier and a much neater finish. I did the same technique with the gold cord which is handy for me who has to tie a bow 15 times before I am happy with it - LOL! Much less wastage of ruined ribbon that way too :-)
Thanks for having a peek at my card!

Awww - does it come any cuter than this!?!? I am sure your DH will love this!! That image is gorgeous and your colouring just highlights that fact! Great tip with the twine and the gold cord - I must remember that! That border and the antiquing are perfect - so very well done Jocelyn! Thanks for sharing! {{{hugs}}}
