I just loved some of the vases today. Looking at them brought back memories of when I worked in Guernsey. There was a wonderful craft centre where they did amazing glass work, and I bought quite a few vases for various people. Unfortunately I only travelled back to Ireland twice from the island, so I never ended up with one for myself.
I used one of the thumbs Stef shared with us. It reminded me of the gorgeous lacquered cabinets that were in an old house I always used to choose to visit for my birthday treat.
My base is approx 5" square, Bazzill.
The flowers and leaves from Embrace Life were both stamped in gold ink on black card and embossed with gold EP. Then I coloured them first with white acrylic, and then with gouache paints. The flowers were cut in a circle and layered up on Blossoms from Spellbinders, all edges gone round with a gold pen. The square black panel was layered up on shiny gold card, and then stuck to the base. The sentiment was also stamped and embossed with gold, layered up on a gold tag and tied with gold cording.
It was good to make a card today - all my creative and emotional energy the last few days has gone into trying to get my PC working properly again. Last night I gave up and ordered a new one, so I feel more liberated today.
Thanks for the fun challenge, Stef
