Instead of a card, I made a scrap book page for a project for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges.
This picture, taken in 1912, shows my husbandÂ’s mother, Frieda Molly (Pritzker) Wieder as an infant, ten years after his grandmother, uncle, and grandfather, also pictured, immigrated to America.
Included in the lay-out is a reproduction of the passenger manifest for the SS Maasdam obtained from the Ellis Island Museum database. The family departed Rotterdam 03-06-1902 and arrived 03-17-1902 at Ellis Island, New York.
Edges of the paper block and the print of the passenger manifest were distressed and inked. The picture is matted in framed in multiple layers of card stock trimmed with a punched lace edge and embellished with embossing. I used Grungeboard die cut hinges with a faux metal finish to add to the vintage feel
