Made for the DTGD09KrystieLee - Clearly Creative challenge and it also fits the DTGD09Lauraly - Previous Theme: Tie One On! and DTGD09eggette - Flap Your Wings challenges.
I have had this pack of Craftwork Cards Sheer Delights in my stash for months - there are clear acetate birds and butterflies in the pack. This challenge to use something clear gave me the push to actually get one out and use it! It also gave me the chance to use the gorgeous pearlescent Marshmallow and Cappuccino Craftwork Cards items from my stash too - what a yummy colour combo!
I stamped on the butterfly using white StazOn ink. I scored lines either side of the butterfly body so I could pop the wings up a bit. It's always challenging adhering clear acetate pieces - so I decided to tie the butterfly onto my card with ribbon. I punched two holes in both the butterfly and the Cappuccino scalloped square and tied the butterfly on with pink grosgrain ribbon.
I made the card using two scalloped squares - I scored a vertical line on the back square and glued this piece to the front square so that the card stands up for display. The front pink square has been embossed using a Sizzix Texture Plate. The Cappuccino panel and the sentiment circle are both popped up with 3d foam tape.
I've added pink Swarovski crystals randomly to the butterfly. The corner accents are Craftwork Cards Candy Dots and the sentiment is a Birthday Message die cut circle, also by Craftwork Cards.
