My daughter needed a couple of farewell cards for co-workers and called upon me to help her out. I've been wanting to try and make a Flower Pot Card since it was the TLC challenge back in April so gave it a shot.
You can see the stand and folded insert in this photo.
Took much inspiration from the many cards in the gallery, but especially from this beauty by kerryj106 Manhattan Flower Pot.
I just mounted my Fifth Avenue Floral set this week and could hardly wait to ink it up. Used an Aquapainter and reinkers to colour the flowers. Lots of 'fussy-cutting' but once I got going it went pretty quickly. I doubled the size of the insert panel to allow for several people to sign the card. Also added a little stand at the back (inspired from one of the many Flower Pot cards in the gallery but I failed to write down whose card it was...sorry).
Did a test-run on the Sizzix alphabet (Garden Delight) that I happened to find for $15 at M's to add names to the cards. Added a few leaves made with the Little Leaves die.
Made these a little bigger than the instructions, again to allow for a bit more room for people to add their wishes on the inside. Great fun to make and DD was very pleased with the results.

Such a gorgeous card. It must have taken forever to do these with all that coloring and cutting. That is a wonderful idea to add the stand for display.
I believe you are going to get a lot of use out of the Sizzix alphabet die.
The recipients of these lovely cards are sure to be very pleased. (Yes, Pam

Lovely job on this flower pot card. I love them but haven't had a chance to make one yet. Was supposed to make one for my mom for Mother's Day but ran out of time so here I sit admiring yours and deciding to make one for a dear friend we will visit in a few weeks. Great find on the alphabet set and a great job on the card. Sure it will be enjoyed

Oh my, what a lot of work, and so lovely! I seem to be getting lazier instead of more industrious. Although I have been making some cards at least. Just no pics.
And now you Sizzix letters too, is the madness never going to stop! And you not across town to visit easily...
