I am really into creating my own backgrounds lately and trying out new techniques. I created this background using bleach, ink, brayer, and embossing folder. It's a bit time consuming, but a lot of fun. Expect inky fingers for sure!
Here is how I created this background:
Start by dabbing bleach, with glove protected fingers, randomly over a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. Dry it with a heat gun or air dry. Then apply Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry Re-Inkers to a stamp pad foam (Inkssentials) alternating twice. Ink the brayer with the stamp pad foam and then roll over the cardstock. Once again with your gloved fingers sparingly apply bleach and dry once again. To flatten out the cardstock you can go over it with an iron on a medium setting. (Be careful not to scorch the cardstock.) Crop to desired side then using an embossing folder, run through your embossing machine. Finally, using a brayer, roll Rich Razzleberry over the embossed image.
Sounds like a big deal but it is really quite simple and fun. I wish I could recall where I read about this technique so I could give credit where it is due, but I simply cannot remember. I believe it was in a recent stamping magazine.
Happy stamping!

I love this card! I too love making backgrounds. Sometimes I get so much into making one that I forget to actually build the card around it! LOL This is just so stunning though. TFS

What a stunning background!!! Thanks for sharing your instrux for making it. I get nervous thinking about using bleach (yikes!) but I think I'm going to have to break down and try it soon. This sounds like a lot of fun--your results are spectacular! If mine could be even half as nice, it would be worth it . . . This is a beautiful card!! Thanks for sharing!
