Someone forgot to pony up the dough for our air travel to da MuddermarkÂ’s (thatÂ’s Mothermark to most of you) weekly tea party, so weÂ’ve been grounded in the good olÂ’ USA this week. IÂ’d like to thank Sabrina (Cook22), once again, for the grand time we had in Dublin last week. She is such a gracious hostess and really knew how to handle some of the rowdy ones in our group (I wonÂ’t mention names).
KrisChir sent da Muddermark a picture of this absolutely adorable teapot she owns for our inspiration teapot this week. IsnÂ’t it really cute?
I masked this kitty image and stamped it five times and colored them with Copic markers. The blue kitty in the middle is the head chef, so he gets the honor of wearing this cool chefÂ’s hat from H&M StampÂ’s ItÂ’s Picnic Time! Stamp set (the sentiment is also from the same set). YouÂ’ll note that the head chef also gets to wear a solid red bandana while the cat-erers-in-training are wearing their trainee scarves of gingham.
I used the sketch design from Midnight Madness. My color choices from the inspiration teapot also fit pretty good with a color challenge given to my Doubledog Dare group by sleepyinseattle (aka Joanne) to make a summer-themed card with summer colors! WhatÂ’s hotter than summer sun and real red with a bit of blue tossed in to cool us off a bit from all the hot, hot, hot colors?
Edit: Sadly, IÂ’ve learned that da Muddermark was not pleased with my cool CAT-ering staffsÂ’ menu choice to barbecue fillet of mousie. Seems sheÂ’s whimped out on us and has changed this shindig to a potluck. IÂ’ll bring soupe du jour (heh-heh-heh-----itÂ’ll taste like chickenÂ….trust me!)
I hope youÂ’ll have a chance to join us at the tea party today! That's Mothermark's blog link above to check out the details! We always have a lot of fun!

Hey, I gotta keep you on your toes......fish, cat nip, filet of mousie???? Do you blame me? Snort! This is the most precious card! I love your little kitties, however I must say that it figures (just my luck) the Cat-ering company would send over a bunch of trainees in gingham (did Kelly have a hand in that?) and one little ole head chef who undoubtedly has no control over his students! But then, who ever said our tea parties were all about control? Not me!
Your card is so precious and it looks just like the tea pot! Its the cutest thing and how fun that you got a couple of other challenges in there too! Giggle! You better keep an eye on your cooks.....nuttin' worse than a beginner cook in the kitchen especially with the hot topic of who has the best cook hat! Yikes!
Thanks for coming Bertie....I look forward to your soup. Behave or I might have to reprimand you again! NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!

Charlene you are the funniest and my so very talented at masking! WOW, at first they were different cats, till I looked closely. WOW!
Now, as for mousie filets, goodness, could that be worse than my chocolate!!! Well, let me stir clear of those filet and soup that taste like chicken?? Yep, I'm sitting with Darla. LOL
Beautiful sketch too, better go and get ready for the party!

Charlene, what a fabulous kitty card. I love how you masked your little kitties. (Better a mask than a blindfold. It makes it so much harder to cook without seeing what you are doing.) Great way to incorporate all those challenges on this little ole teapot card. I love the checked ribbon that you used.

How totally adorable. The colours are spot on, and I love your gang of kitchen cats with their bows and the hat for the chef de cuisine. Hope he knows how to keep all those sous-cats in order, they look as if they have plenty of cattitude. Soupe du jour - hmmm. Might be worth risking - I know when my cat had her kittens she not only brought rabbits home for them more than once but also, regreattably, a neighbour's hen. So I might believe the chicken soup. And DH has photos of the kids barbecuing rats from when he was on a visit in Africa, although he didn't partake. Love your corners, eyelets and country-feel ribbons, too. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Ireland. I hope you picked up one of those jumbo-size bags of M&Ms on the way back, in the duty free.

Sabrina is right on when she calls your group a gang of kitchen cats. I think the chef's hat might just be a disguise to get to the fish Cindy's cats have brought. Love the ribbon treatment and your coloring is to be envied.

I'm not so sure these are ALL summer colors, dearie. I know RED is. RED is a summer and Fall color, the color of noses in the winter, and RED tulips in the Spring. Of course. Okay, I'll give you bright blue, because the ocean here in New England on a summer day is VERY dark blue, not caribbean like in Bermuda. Now, summer sun is a whole different ballgame. The summer sun here in MA is sorta weak......more like banana. I have visited New Mexico, and the sun there was orangey. I think I may have to give you credit for it, though, solely (get it? sol? Sun?) because of the word sun in the name. Okay, okay, I accept your colors!
What a cute card! I love all these kitties!!

Oh my! Your kittens are just too cute! Your coloring and making them all look so different is amazing and your layout is spectacular. Great card and as always, a fun story to go with it!
