The Ship, Sunset, Treasure Chest, Dolphin Sunset, Rope Knot, and Mermaid were colored with Copic markers. Some Spica pen was used to add a glimmery touch to the Mermaid's tail. Glitter was added to the treasure from the chest. The sky was chalked and the ocean inked with a variety of inks.
A ton of micro glass marbles died for the sake of art. I added shells from my collection to the base.
The harlequin paper is old and I don't know who made it. The striped paper is by Fancy Pants. I learned that it's better to use thicker weight patterned paper because the harlequin paper wrinkled and bubbled in spite of my best efforts.
The "magnets" are stamped and colored and were covered with clear Tiddly Winks (small ones) and Acrylic stickers (the larger ones--caused a glare on the skull). I had purchased some good thick magnet stickers, but they're buried somewhere, so I used magnet business cards (from my dentist) as a stand-in.
Since it's finally sunny here on the East Coast, I took it outside to take photos. It might be clear, but it is windy. Ha.
Here's the quote:
I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving . . .
to the port of heaven we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against — but we must sail and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
