I do not scrapbook too often, but wanted to try out a technique challenge by Sherill Graff from Late Night Stampers called Hand painted paperÂ…Â…watercolor background. You take re-inkers and mix them with a touch of irridescent Medium (liquid glitter!) I used a generous amount of H2O on my CS before stippling, so instead of a polished stone like look, my Real ed and Barely banana all ran together.......looks pretty cool anyway.....
The hand made paper was used for the tag punch to layer on top of the larger Red punch-I do not have any current Su alphabets, so used the CB and a alpha set just to take a picture for now....
The photo is the Chi Omega Sorority 2008-2009 group picture for the Ohio State Univ Chapter. Their national philanthropic project is the Make a Wish Foundation, and each year I make a scrapbook for their silent auctionÂ…Â… This is Page One (last year I made the scrapbook in 2 weeks, this year I hope to make it a little bit at a timeÂ…Â….not all at the last minute). Last year, the scrapbook sold for $200.00 and it is the 2nd one I have ever made.
(Sorority colors and Red and Carnation-yellow). OSU colors are Red, Grey and Black).
Anyway, for the scalloped edge, I cut the Hand Painted paper in strips ~3/4 in or so, and ran them through the crimper after they had been punched out with the scallop punch. I folded up the folds by pinching the ups and downs together, added red line tape on the back and attached it like you would attach lace to a piece of fabricÂ…Â…Â…. I attached a closer photo so you could get a better look at that. I decided to stop so the page would not get too busy. 19 pages to goÂ…Â…Â…..
Thanks for looking!
