this is a card that I made for a friend to give to her bil for his 60th b-day. She indicated that cranes and bamboo are positive symbols in oriental art, so I incorporated both, oh yeah, and red's good too! I CASE'd this card: SC 187 - Peaceful Garden Birthday by ckidd at Splitcoaststampers and incorporated Zindorf-style with the emboss resist of the cranes and brayering of the sky.
Not sure if you can tell but the red layer is embossed with branches/sticks using a cuttlebug.
Just added this to the StampinB challenge #12 -to use both wet and dry embossing. My FIRST challenge!

I'm so glad you chose a Stampin'B's challenge as your first. You did a great job; this is a delightful card. I love the Asian sybolism that you mentioned. And, just in case you didn't know it, this card also qualifies for Stampin'B's Challenge #3, which was an inspiration challenge. The inspiration was a photo of two Sandhill Cranes.
