52 weeks of teapots = a whole deck of cards. This "deck" includes not the Queen of Spades, Diamonds, Clubs, and Hearts, but the Queen of Teapots, and that would be our hostess the lovely Cindy Motherway. We have been treated to such wonderful fun on her weekly Teapot Tuesday challenges for the last year. http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2009/...rsary-and.html
This week our Queen of Teapots was invited to have tea with the Queen and I overheard that there were some hijinks in the works. Something about spilled tea in the crown and polar bear costumes and well, you need to check out the Teapot Gallery Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
This is a crown box I made for our Queen of Teapots. I used a template that I found on Jan Tink's blog http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.c...aper_scissors/ and adapted it to (hopefullly) represent our lovely teapot from this week's challenge.
Hey ladies, I'm a little late, I couldn't find my passport - oh wait, I don't have one, darn! Take lots of pictures. I'll be waiting to see your scrapbooks!!!

I was late too so don't worry about it! I do love the crown box you made. So sweet and classy!
Now, I thought I would be able to keep my shennanigans in check this week, but when I heard about Bill and Harry joining in, I just went back to my old ways. Nice to see ya. I love these parties, let's make it to another 52 okay!

Lorraine! This is so fun! So creative! I love that...number one, you even remembered there had been such a thing like this posted somewhere along the line at SCS and number two, that you whipped this up so quickly! I love the jewels. Me thinks we should high tail it outa here before the Queen gets her hands on this and demands it be hers! You know, she has people!!! This is awesome!
Our next issue will be....if we get it back in the states safely, then we will have to keep it hidden from Bertie cuz she has attended a manner and etiquette school that was really quite the opposite and she has learned how to lift jewels. She took the Queen's gold necklace and got away with it. We are gonna pawn it and fund next weeks tea party! She doesn't know that yet, I have to send her a pm! Snort!
Don't you and Peggy think twice about coming late. The Queen said she would pay for flights to and from all week so pack your bags and we will see you in line! Apparently I don't have the clout I think I have as we have been shown our place in line!

LORRAINE! Look at that perfect floral-bejeweled crown! Methinks you are telling a big fib that you don't have your passport, because I saw Prince Charles searching for this crown in the gardens for his Mom! So give it back before we have to have next week's party in England because that's where everyone will be stuck...in the clink (except me of course, I have been busy observing a taking notes for the Naughty and Nice List 2009...so far, only MariLynn has kept her nose clean and made the nice list this week, hee!

OH No Lorraine you didn't did you? Did you take this crown...this beautiful crown of jewels....which I love so much that Maureen and I are going to try and make it together. You know I have Agatha Christie on the case because Bertie took (so MariLynn said) the Queens necklace. We will never be allowed back in the castle. I only learned 2 new English words Smashing and Bloody.
On the other hand....if you didn't take it and you really did make it for the tea party...you did a Smashing Bloody job.

How creative and really beautiful. I love the idea of making a crown for the teapot queen. My mind was running along a deck of cards too - after all those poker games!! But I've been too hot and too busy to translate any ideas onto paper.
ps - the gold card I used on mine, I was a bit disappointed with it because the supplier changed up from a less shiny gold to that one. So - I'd be more than happy to stick a few sheets in the post to you if you'd like? I'd think that in one of those card-backed envelopes it should arrive quite safely. Let me know - otherwise I'll be making myself use it up, and I didn't even get through a whole sheet with my Christmas cards yesterday.
Maybe, with all those thieves around, it's just as well your crown and you weren't early!
