So somehow this went from the Limited Supplies Challenge of a one layer summer card to....this card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 21.. It also started out as a birthday card for my sister-in-law, but turned into an engagement card for her (we think it's coming soon and she wants to get married at the beach).
I just got this sand at a convention from Muddpuddles. It is already mixed with glue, so you just put it on like frosting. How *fun* is that? (They also showed it mixed with stickles for a snow look.)
I stamped some white paper with the flower using Hibiscus ink, then punched out one-inch squares, which I then arranged on the hibiscus paper. I added the white lines around the outside, but I think it looked better without it.
I cut a square nestie window to use as a stencil to put the sand on the Pacific Point paper. I simply applied the sand with a plastic knife, then set it aside to dry overnight. Caution: it does make it a bit heavy!
I stamped and cut the flip-flops out, and adhered them to the sand the next day. The entire square is attached with foam tape.
Added some ribbon and stamped the sentiment in Fresh Snow ink. It didn't show up as well as I wanted, so I went over it again with the white gel pen.
Hope I get to use this card soon!

That sand is SO COOOOOOL! I thought it ws flower soft, you put it on like frosting? So cool! I like how your stitching around the central image matches the saddle stitch ribbon. Very pretty!
