A neighbor comes to me... she needs a card to say thanks to her daughters Kindergarten teacher. The teacher loves anything safari, even decorating the room as such.
I had just the card in mind, considering I'd just ran across this giraffe in my sticker drawer.
I started with a yellow card, 5x5. I added the blue cardstock and punched out a hole for the sun. There's also clouds, but they are hard to see, that are stamped with the top of a cupcake, in white ink. The rolling hills are freely cut from green cardstock.
The grass mimics the stickers that came with the giraffe, in different shades of green. The tree is freely cut from brown cardstock, then dry embossed over a "wood" template. The leaves are cardstock that was folded then punched with the 1" circle punch, in different shades of green.
Everything was glued to the card, then the giraffe was added.
The inside is printed in a zebra font (from dafont.com) and it says "Thank you. You're the best teacher we've had SAFARI". I thought it was fitting and even more impressed when it came to me on the fly!
Although it's not on this picture, the sun was changed a bit. I added an orange circle around the yellow sun. I used scalloped scissors to cut out the starbursts (using them backwards) and then used the same circle punch to punch out the middle. I had just a thin starburst circle to glue to the front, but it made all the difference. It really made the sun more dramatic.
