Another card to fulfill my vow to enter challenges this summer.
To make the geranium, I punched out lots of small 6 petal flowers. I used a red design paper to get the variation in shades in the finished flower. Used my round tip emobosser and pushed the center down in my soft piercing pad to add more deminsion.
I punched a 2 inch circle, made a slit up to center and then slightly overlapped it to make a cone shape. Covered it with wet glue (Neutral pH Adhesive) and with tweezers placed the little flowers over the cone. (Saw this in techique in PaperCrafts, July/August 2009 issue)
The leaves are punched w/SU round scallop punch. To get variation in color for the leaves I took a picture of my English Ivy ground cover. I printed it out on glossy photo paper. The flower looked dull w/shiney leaves so I sprayed the flower w/gloss spray before adhering to card.
The extra time gives real deminsion to the finished geranium and really didn't take as long as it sounds!
