Welcome back Stef! Anne did a wonderful job sitting in for you these past few weeks. Thanks for another great inspiration challenge. I love graphic art and it was so much fun to peruse all 1085 images in the Book Cover site. In the end, I chose this caged beauty for my inspiration. This card is also for the 365 Card Blog Challenge two colors.
I've had this awesome bird on branch/frame image (Stamp Francisco) since winter. I knew it would come in handy 'someday'! I paired it with an Emily Dickinson quote about HOPE. My two colors are SU's retired soft sky and very vanilla (thanks Carole). I used Tim Holtz di brushed corduroy for the ink. Some of the bird's wings were stamped again and raised for dimension.
This is headed to a co-worker who just found out her Mom (Jean) has advanced cancer. It is my hope to bring comfort and a place to be vunerable, even at work. If you pray for God's will for Jean in this time, I would be so grateful. Thanks for looking!

Did you really look at every single book cover!! My goodness, I stopped after 3 or 4 pages when I found something quick and easy.
Your card and the book you used remind me of this poem by Jacques Prevert - http://www.employees.org/~sttang/To_paint_the_portrait_of_a_bird.html.
I will remember your friend and her mother.
