The Flourishes challenge this week was to create a birthday card.
Hmm - I had every intention of using Three Chairs, but somehow it didn't happen.
My base is 5 3/4" square white. The next layer is green Core'dinations, with the edges distressed. The sky layer is glossy white card, to which I stuck cloud templates before sponging with blue chalk.
For the flourish, I primed a piece of Maya Road chipboard with several layers of gesso primer, and then when it was finally dry, I stamped the vine in Versafine Olympia Green. The leaves were all highlighted with a clear Sakura Stardust pen, which doesn't show so well, and I used blue Liquid Pearls on the flower heads. I coloured the bird with markers, stamped on white card, cut out and popped up on foam so that it's flush with the depth of the chipboard. Tied some orange organza ribbon around the chipboard, stuck it down and wrote Happy Birthday along the flourish.

I love the freshness of this with the crisp blue sky and clouds. Your bird looks vivid against it, a wonderful compliment. I LOVE the effect of the liquid pearls on your chipboard flourish.
