This is a card I made for my niece who will graduate in two weeks as an R.N. Her favorite color is purple
The image design is created using a technique I found in the Rubber Stamper Magazine (2002) called Monoprint Design. Basically, you need to use an Image Transfer Palette (a plain rubber stamp with no image on it) to create this. I applied various colors of *pigment* ink, working light to dark to cover the Palette stamp. Then using light color *dye* inks stamp background images directly on the palette stamp. (Uninked images can be used, too.) Then stamp focal image in black, brown or other dark *dye* color directly on to the palette stamp. Tap a dye ink pad along edges of Palette Stamp and now for a little edge and then
stamp the palette stamp on matte white cardstock (pigment ink will not dry on glossy cardstock). Words need to be stamped last and directly on the card - if you stamped it on the Palette stamp it would be backwards. The directions called for coloring in the main image with chalks but I chose to use colored pencils and Gamsol.
This is not my usual style but every once in a while I like to try something a little different. All-in-all, I think I rather like it.
I hope you like it and I hope it inspires you to try something different, or new to you.
Have a good day and thanks for looking
