I used two papers from the Imaginisce paper line "The Exotic East" to make this card. Not your typical spring time colors, but aren't they stunning! And perfect for an expression of condolence no matter what the season.
I used a Serendipity stamp (Queen Anne's Lace) to stamp the sillhouetted image. I stamped the butterfly image from the stamp separately and popped it up near the sentiment for added depth.
The dark colors and simple lines gave me just the right amount of sophistication I was looking for when I designed this as a Sympathy card. This is one of those rare occasions when I didn't use a ribbon on a card. I draped more ribbons than I can even describe across this card, but each and every one seemed to detract, not add to the card. Sometimes simple is best!
Check out my blog post about this card for more details.

This is beautiful! And I'm chagrinned that you got your Fleur de Lis border punch to work. Mind doesn't work and I all flummoxed about it, too!
Lovely, lovely card! tsmfs
