I made this card for the CCEE sketch challenge today - check out the blog here for the sketch and some great cards:http://cceestampers.blogspot.com/200...challenge.html.
Cindy M knows from her tea-parties that I don't like making cards I can't use ;-). Now, as soon as I saw the sketch, this card popped into my head. I think because we are off to Paris at the end of the week, and I wanted to give this French chick an outing. But I can't exactly send myself a card...and then I thought my sis is going to Paris too in May, so I will keep it for her. We manage to go every couple of years except in times of total financial hardship, but she hasn't been for over twenty years. She loaned me her two new travel guides to go with my older one, so when I return them I'll stick this card in.
I sponged the edges of an A2 white base card with dark brown. Then I stamped the Judikins chicken wire onto some paper (the pad says Scrapbook, Printdirect, CMYK, no idea where it came from). I stamped the Eiffel tower, which is from a set from SAR for making a 3D model onto another sheet of paper from the same pad. I cut it out with the top and bottom out of the box, and then layered it onto more paper. Added 3 snaps in bleu, blanc, rouge, layered it onto the chicken wire, added some tied hemp and stuck it onto the base. The Penny Black stamp was stamped onto white card with Versafine Black and coloured with watercolour pencils. I had stamped a *Vive la France* sentiment that goes with the Eiffel Tower, but when I decided to give it to my sister, I punched out a mini label, sponged the edges, added some hemp and wrote Bon Voyage. The chicken and the tag are up on foam.
