This one-of-a-kind ATC was made for a “Pick a Theme” Swap. The theme was “perfect sunset” and I chose to create a sunset with alcohol ink as a backdrop for a sailing ship.
How ToÂ’s:
Make card base from three pieces of heavy weight black card stock (2.5 inches by 3.5 inches). Ink a 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches panel of glossy card stock with alcohol inks. Pounce the colors (plum, butterscotch, blue) and then add blending solution and swipe the inking pad horizontally across the panel to create a “streaky sky” effect for a background to within a half inch of the bottom. Streak the bottom in blues and greens (for the ocean). Stamp ship onto the background in Versamark and emboss with Detail Black EP.
Stamp ship again on plain cardstock in Versamark and emboss with Detail Black EP. Cut out around the ship and sails (cut away the ropes and everywhere you would see the sky through the sails). Paint the sails with pearlescent acrylic paint. Color the flag with red markers and white pearl paint. Color the ship with brown markers. Glue this “cut out” image over the stamped ship on the background.
Punch anchor shapes, press onto Versamark pad and emboss with regular silver. Embellish bottom of front with silver thread, an anchor, and rhinestone.
Card Back: Stamp frame shape in silver on white card stock and cut out. Use as journal box for ATC identifying information. Attach to back of card and embellish with anchors.
