I saw a tutorial for making cool paper flowers on the Cosmo Cricket blog and thought it would be fun to have a go!
I've used a Scrapblock to make my own patterned paper for the flower, stamping both sides of a premium weight copy paper and sponging lighter ink over the stamping.
Fill the jar with candy or cookies or maybe buttons or ribbons if your mum is crafty, too!

I love the flower! I tried the steps in the tutorial but had problems with how to stick the layers together with the staples in them. When you fold each layer of the flower in half and staple, do you put the staple in horizontally (along the fold) or vertically (going from the fold to the petals)? I also had a hard time getting the small center section to stick since it's folded twice before stapling.
I like the curled petals on your version of the flower, and the purple with the print almost make it look like a fabric flower.
