I December 08 Lynn challenged us to the Faux Silk with a pop. I didn't have any tissue paper handy, so I put that technique on the shelf and swore I would get back to it. Today was that day. I did the Faux Silk with a Pop on the sand dollar from the Nature's Wonders set. I wanted to make the sand dollar really have dimension, so instead of cutting out only 1 to go under the tissue paper, I cut out 4. It is hard to see in the photo, but the sand dollar has almost the depth of a real sand dollar. I was also inspired by this card by missiowa81, my neighbor to the north: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I loved how she had the torn layers. That is what I tried to achieve on my box. I stamped with my itty bitty background on the tan to give it some texture.
I braided twine for the handles of my box. I liked the idea that it could be used for a girl or a guy.
What do you think?

Oh, I love the beach bag! Makes me wish I was headed there right now with a nice cozy lounge chair, a cold beverage, and a good book. Ooh, I can picture it now, a white sandy beach, blue water...

Your faux silk bag is beautiful. The sand dollar looks real and I love the torn layers and twine handles.
