My goodness, I was surprised to see a Christmas teapot from Cindy this morning. A very sweet little pot, mind you - you can see it and Cindy's card here: http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2009/...uesday-36.html. But I'm out of Christmas mode, having trouble even thinking about my cards for the 09 Christmas Card challenge.
Anyway, I only have one Cardinal stamp apart from the tiny little one on Flower for All Seasons, so I got it out, along with a Penny Black stamp that has lots of holly on it. And my Fiskars Texture Plates are getting a good workout at the moment, even if I still don't seem to get a good result in the Wizard.
The base is a sort of burgundy, the only one left from two Christmases back. Next layer is green Bazzill. Then some white card, textured with the Lines texture plate and sponged with ColorBox Chalk Soft Brown. The sentiment is a See-D's, coloured with a marker because ink pads always seem to get into those tiny little fine lines.
For the main image I stamped my Northwoods Rubber Stamps image, cut it out with an oval Nestabilities and coloured with H2Os. I used some Fluffy Stuff for the snow on the branches. I also stamped the holly part of the PB stamp several times, coloured them, cut them out and made a frame around the cardinal.

Sabrina, I like how your embossed lines turned out. It made a wonderful background for your little cardinal. It looks so much like the teapot. Great job!!

Sabrina, the bkgrd you chose sets off your brightly colored cardinal so nicely.
I am with you in that I never expected a Christmas theme! I have heard of Christmas in July but never Christmas in March. Oh that Cindy!

Very pretty!! The background works so well with the cardinal. I know what you mean about not being in the mood for Christmas cards... LOL I just couldn't do it, although I'm glad others did, because I LOVE all the great cardinals!!
