I did a second card for today's challenge because it's such a thrifty idea and I had I saw this stamp and got it in my head that I wanted to use it today. I know I don't have to do the challenges just to make a card but it makes it fun.
The challenge today was to make our own DSP using only one stamp set for the entire card with the only embellishments being ribbon or brads.
I only used Peacock Fan from Stampendous - a single stamp.
I coloured on the stampe with a charcoal coloured marker and stamped the ver BG of the paper all over the paper. Next I coloured on the stamp with the colourful markers and stamped my coloured feather right over the DSP.
I thought it looked a little flat and barren at that point so I started messing with sponging and sponged on some Tempting Turquoise which gave it some nice depth.
I had this dollar ribbon frm Crazy Loonies in Winchester and added 3 pieces of it over the corners, tying the two pieces at the top right together with a smaller piece of ribbon.
I hand wrote the sentinment with a black marker and mounted all of it onto a Basic Black card base.
Lastly I added the doodled dots around the perimeter just to tie it all together becasue it needed something to weight the edges of the main panel.
This was a really fun challenge and I'm really happy with this card. It wasn't exactly as I had it pictured in my head but I think I like it better than what I had started out to make.
Hope you all like it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks Wendybells for a terrific challenge and thanks for looking and all the comments.
