Frugal recycling; I love it! Since I never throw anything away, (because I know as soon as I do I'll find that perfect use for it) this seems tailor made for me. I used magazine pictures. My main bg of the rooster weather vane is from a magazine. The stamped rooster is put together w/ lots of magazine pgs.
Of course these roosters have legs, but this card was totally inspired by Tuesday night dinner. Let me explain. On Tuesday nights, I'm gone for a while to a sort of club meeting. I'll either bring home dinner or get one of those already cooked chickens from the store, like this past Tuesday.
As DH is fixing his plate, I hear "Huh. Something's wrong w/ this chicken."
"What?" I ask.
"Well, it has no legs and 3 wings."
"Hmm. You know what that means, don't you?"
"No. What?"
{Here, I think he's expecting some deep, Kung Fu/Confucius type meaning. Yeah, right!}
"Well, it means that in another kitchen, right about now, some guy is saying "Huh. This chicken has four legs and only one wing." "
While y'all are figuring out what these two mutant chickens look like, I'll give you the deets. I trimmed my mag pic and attached it to a piece of really rust that I stamped the chicken wire (GI) on the bottom
then bugged.
The rooster (Inkadinkado) was stamped about a thousand times on different colors in mag pgs and sections cut out and all pieced together. I attached him to a white nestie cut oval then to a black one.
The sentiment (Hampton) was stamped on left over piece of the mag pic and I added a little shading w/ a marker and blender. I punched a word window tag that was also stamped w/ chicken wire, cut it in half and attached to the left side w/ a couple of buttons. This is all attached to a black card front. TFL

This is too awesome!!! I never thought about using mag pages for paper piecing! This would be a perfect card for my brother's birthday so might have to invest in that rooster stamp real soon!
