I made this card for the first February VSN challenge, Sketch a Little Love. The sketch required a heart and a circle.
How ToÂ’s:
The design paper is actually a lightweight card stock that has coordinating prints on each side and so it made putting the card together very easy. I used Augusta Green cardstock for the card base and to mat the circle. I used the darker pattern of the printed cardstock to make a central panel and punched the edge with a lace edge punch from Martha Stewart. Then I added a second layer of lace trim flipped over to the lighter pattern. I edged both layers with green ink.
I stamped the greeting on the circle and clear embossed it. I cut out larger flowers from the opposite side of the paper and pieced them over the flowers in the stamped design then finished off the flower centers with a touch of carrara marble glitter. I trimmed the circle with the same inked lace edging I used to edge the panel.
I painted the heart and scalloped edge with gesso and then inked the scalloped edge with a darker shade of green (Oasis Green) and sponged the Silk Green on the heart itself. I stamped a small branch on the heart and stamped a butterfly, dragonfly, rose, and rose leaves on white cardstock in silk green, clear embossed, and cut them out. I arrange them on the heart. The scalloped border was coated with glue and dusted with carrara marble glitter.
I punched some hearts and inked them, stamped the tip of the branch stamp onto one, and them and a ribbon and bow as embellishments.

Oh this is so dainty and delicate! Love the doily punch down the side and the beautiful pastel color! So glad to see you back at the VSN, we haven't "seen" each other since the last round!
