This is the card I made for Beate's weekend sketch. See her blog here - Blogs at Splitcoaststampers.
I had to look up avocets to see was I meant to colour them in, but apparently leaving them white is right. I liked the circle shapes in the sketch - but they were just too big for my compass cutter, so it was a regular compass and cut-by-hand affair. I used beige for the *sand* and blue for either the sea or sky, both embossed. The blue swirls wee also sponged. For the green at the top, I embossed the swirls again onto scratch paper and used that as a template for the piercing. The sentiment was stamped onto beige, layered onto embossed blue and attached with some fibre. The sentiment oval is popped up on foam.
I thought it needed something at the bottom. After some thinking, I stamped a little shell three times, and added square page pebbles. Cut them out, went round the edges with a green marker and layered them up on circles of the green card. When I mounted them on the card, I made sure to put them all at different angles.
