I made this ATC for an Asian card swap. I found the background paper at my LSS in a large unmarked box of 6 inch paper squares of cardstock printed in a few different patterns. This one was on top and caught my eye because it was a stunning oriental print with lavender blooms on the left and cherry blossoms on the right. The other half of the paper has a beautiful cherry blossom design. I cut three 2.5 inch by 3.5 inch pieces from each sheet and used two pieces of this paper layered with two additional layers of plain cardstock in between to give a strong base.
The stamp I used is an elaborate cluster of oriental poppies on a background of lettering. I stamped the image multiple times in Archival black ink and then watercolored and cut out pieces from each image. Marcasite embossing powder was used in the center of each poppy bloom. The card base was stamped and embossed in gold with lines of writing from each side of the stamp. The symbol for “beauty” was stamped and embossed in gold on the top left corner of the front of the card. The symbol for “wisdom” was stamped and embossed in gold on the bottom left corner of the reverse of the card. The flowers and leaves were assembled on the front of the card and the card was edged with gold ink. Information about the card was recorded on the reverse in purple gel pen.

So many details in this little ATC, I just LOVE it.
The gold embossed words are perfect color together with the background.
Too bad I didn't get one of yours....(crying)
