For some reason my came distorts this in the middle it looks like it is bowed, but it is laying flat.
Well, again I made a little book with all my notes on the left, and after I seen One4joy's page/card with her wings I knew I wanted some too. These verses are some of my favorites as my username indicates 'in the shadow'. So this was a special page for me.
Here is my text in the little book:
Psalms 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and
my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare
of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
My word study of verses 1-4
GA = GodÂ’s Action
MA = My action

LORD = YHWH, I AM THAT I AM
Refuge = shelter, place of safety, protection,
secure GA
Fortress = stronghold of protection, GA
God = Elohim, One True God, judge
I Trust = confidence in, His safety, MA upon His
trustworthiness GA

His pinons/wings = wings of protection, GA
Under His wings = of protection, GA
You may seek refuge = I seek His shelter, place of
safety and protection, GA&MA
His faithfulness = truth, connected, with loving
kindness, peace, righteousness, justice, GA
Shield = offensive weapon, large with hooks, used
in battle for protection, GA
Bulwark = small shield used for
defense/protection, GA
Points to Ponder
Four different names of God are used in these first
four verses, Most High, Almighty, LORD, God.
A number of metaphors refer to GodÂ’s protection for
His people. He is our Shield, Fortress, Hiding Place,
Keeper, Refuge, Rock, Shade, Shelter, & Stronghold.
Each metaphorÂ’s definition includes the word
‘protect-protector or protection’. In many of the
passages that use metaphors of God as our Protector, we find several metaphors (or perhaps titles) used in parallel without actually giving Him the name protector. The entire 91st Psalm is about these metaphors of Him as Protector.
The text seems to indicate the in order to receive this protection there must be some qualifiers on my part.
In verse 1, it states ‘He who dwells’ indicating I must want to dwell or I am dwelling in the shelter.
Also, ‘will abide in the shadow’ implying I am
lodging, resting in Him so therefore indicating that
He does the protecting.
