The idea for this faux wood and tin punch project came to me after reading the message by Shelli Gardner in the 2009 Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog, how the Polka Dot Punches set reminded her of the patterns that were punched into the metal on old pie cupboards ! The photo doesn't show the details very well: I created a "beadboard" back by using a stylus and paper trimmer; I distressed the "wood" by dinging and scratching it with the rounded tips of my scissors; I cut strips of cardstock and created faux wood by lightly swiping ink pads across it then "mitered" the corners to create the door; I tried to watercolor the letters to resemble a golden pie crust; the cookbooks were punched from scraps with the Word Window punch then trimmed; the blue enamel ware pot was made from the Round Tab punch; I lightly distressed the "tin" with sandpaper. Thanks for looking !
