Ladies I just loooved the card that lacyquilter did using the paper bead technique. I immediately had to CASE it. Thought I would use the current colors with some DSP and see how it worked. Thought it turned out lovely. What do you think?
I used the sponge daubers to apply the ink to the stamp to soften the look. I applied So Saffron to the entire petal area. Came back with Tangerine Tango and shaded in some of the petals. Applied the Chocolate Chip to the "cone" and Old Olive to the greenery.
When rolling up the paper beads we used DSP and cut eleven Isosceles Triangles (one with 2 equal length sides) that were approx. 1/2" wide at the base & 2 1/2" from base to point. Using a toothpick to help hold the shape we started at the base an then rolled up the triangle, adding glue about half the way down to help hold it in place when completed. Then slide the "bead" off of the toothpick and repeat. Once the card is assembled you will need to thread the "beads" onto the gold thread. Once the thread is attached to the card you will need to glue the "beads" in place where you want them. I used the CE to get it to bond quickly as well as to be a sturdy glue. Great fun, and I am planning on teaching this technique in my monthly stamping class. Have Fun. Diane. :o)

This card caught my eye because of the Cone Flower. What a beautiful job you did in the coloring.
When I clicked on it, I saw the beads and immediately wondered if they were the paper beads we used to make in Girl Scouts!
What a memory opener that was!
Thank you, Diane.
