This is the card I made for Cindy's teapot challenge this week. See her blog here - http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2009/...uesday-30.html - for her pot and card.
I have a square china honeycomb dish that would have been great to take a rubbing from. But I'd have had to wash it first!! And anyway, all those hexagons remind me of quilting. So, I cut a hexagon shaped card, and 7 little honeycomb cells and added a lot of stitching lines.
And the only bee stamp I have, which is a bit cuter than the one on the teapot.
But - we used, at one stage, to keep bees in the garden. Goodness knows why we had the breed we had, but they were not as gentle as some other breeds, and we always had to be careful round that part of the garden where the hive was. And once when my mum was doing something with the hive and didn't smoke them enough, they literally started attacking the house. We had to rush round shutting all the windows, upstairs and downstairs. So, while I love big fat bumblebees, and even nice yellow honey bees, little dark realistic bee stamps do nothing for me.

Whoa! That's quite a story! Thanks for RUNNING to the tea party! I love your HEXAGON shaped card! Giggle! I edited my comments since I obviously don't know the difference between a hexagon and an octogon.....and have confused bees! Snort!
Anyway, back to your card...I love it..the little hint of gold honey is awesome, the shape of the card is so cool and I love that your bee is on the cute side! I would rather have you bring this bee to the tea party than the ones you grew up with! Yikes!
Thanks for coming again this week....and thanks for keeping me on my toes...Hugs.

Love the shape of your card. Very creative. I always seem to take the easy way out. Great stitching and a cute little bee. Nice job with the challenge!
