This is my work space. I'd seen several desks in the gallery that were made from those shelving units from Target with a door on top. They even had black canvas containers to complement my theme! I love the amount of space this gives me. I had a small, card-table-sized table in my last craft area (a corner of a room), so I am truly thankful for having a whole room to spread out!

Love how you pulled the fabric from the curtains into a bulletin board ... love the black/white accents!! Beautiful. Bet when you open that window and let the light in that it sparkles!! ENJOY your new space!

Be very careful...once you get to spread out...it all spreads out and doesn't stop. I had a small space once...and kept it neat and tidy...then I had my own room (my 21yr old left the nest)...and that was the end of that. now I only clean it when I'm desperate for space, company is coming, or my husband frowns too much (he never complains...but he frowns...isn't that the same thing). BTW...purple is a beautiful color on any wall.

I love your room !! What kind of paint did you use to paint the door you used for your worktable ? I'm in the process and I want to use something that will hold up, but protect the surface and make it easy to clean... Thanks

I don't have a good solution for you, Pugmomma. I think I just used leftover white primer, and the guy at Home Depot *swore* that the varnish he recommended would be clear. Well, the whole underside of my desk is a yellowish tint, because he was very wrong. I have yet to find a good finish for it. I just used a couple of cans of spray-on sealer, which didn't do much.
