Where have I been? I was recently looking for templates and found this strawberry template and basket tutorial, I know this is old for some of you but I had never seen them before and had to give it a try.
The directions and template link for the strawberries can be found here:
My DH made me a similar template on my Silhouette for the strawberry and stem and wow! it cut and perforated all of them for me. I then embossed the strawberry template with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. I also tied the ribbon and threaded the strawberry differently. I tied a knot in the middle of my ribbon and then folded it in half with tips together and threaded both sides into one strawberry hole at a time (kinda like it is a brad), making sure to thread opposite Strawberry holes from the one I just did (If you thread one next to the one you just did it doesn't look as good). After all the strawberry holes were together I put the ribbon through the stem hole and tied it.
I didn't use distressing ink because I don't have any but wish I had. Also I made paper handles and made them too long. The bottom thin strips on the basket were a bit hard and I think my basket isn't as wide as Laura's but for my first one I think it turned out ok.

Now THAT is like the cutest thing I have EVER seen! The basket looks very authentic! Super sweet...no more expensive baskets for me...I'll take these cute paper ones...and you can always just make a new one instead of dusting, hee! Oh yeah...and the strawberries won't go bad either!!!!

OMGosh, I haven't seen the strawberries before in the basket, so stinkin' cute. Your first basket is absolutely gorgeous. I have a hard time with the little strips too;) Thanks so much for sharing with me!~

This is so cute. I am wondering if you could slip some sort of candy in those strawberries. I am thinking if you could this would be one of those awesome gifts to give to coworkers like for Valentines day. They would be so impressed. You did a great job. TFS
Ooops, I just peeked over at the strawberries and saw you can put candy in them. Oh, now I am loving this even more.
