The Wish-RAK Group is having a New Year Card Round Up - Cards for the Troops this holiday weekend. Here are two cards for AGMommyof2's Birthday Girls Challenge #17. We were to make a card that a service member could send their daughter on her birthday. We'd get extra kudos for using a star on the card.
I wanted something bright and cheerful, so I went with Color Challenge 196 (Taken With Breezy Hoods). Sgalley sent me these Matilda images, which I colored with a Blender Pen and ink pads. I used my Nestability to cut a frame out of the Riding Hood Red cs, which was embossed with the Swiss Dots Embossign Folder, and adhered Matilda behind the frame. Oh yea, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment before I ran it through the embossing folder. I wanted the sentiment to be highlighted a bit, so I made sure it didn't get embossed. The frosting on the muffins were embossed with sparkly embossing powder to add a little bling.
The circle with the star and the other two stars are from SU's On Board Trinket Ornaments and were covered with the coordinating designer paper in the kit.
I think these cards will make two little girls smile on their birthdays, don't you?
