I made this card for Jenn's HCE challenge. I am sorry it's such a bad photo - almost time to start dinner and then we are going out. I'll take a better one tomorrow.
In the meantime, I promise that that silver printed vellum layer IS square, it just needs to sit under a book for an hour to press it down, and the matt layer IS square on the card.
Nothing here is less than a year old. The card blanks - yikes, talk about hoarding. Winsor & Newton used to make them - and it's more than 8 years since DH left the company that supplied their products here, and they were discontinued product even then. They came with different colours of deckle edges - this was a dark green which I sponged with olive pigment ink to make it tone better with the little peony image.
The Mizuhiki cords are mostly 4 years old, except that I had to restock the metallic green one last year. The K&Co Amy Butler brad is a good two years old. I don't know where the little peony scrap came from - it was lying on the floor. The printed vellum is about 4 years old too, and I've had the DCWV Asian Mat Stack since before we moved house, so make that two years.
Now, if only I could keep that up!!
I think this also qualifies for SCSNYE06, an Asian or Eastern inspired card.
Nothing really to say about techniques - I drew a frame around the peony scrap on the vellum with a silver Stardust pen and added little gems on the corners. The cords were tied in a knot, secured with thread and then I used the brad to attach them to the main layer.

Sabrina, you have to know that I'm crazy about this card! It's got just the right asian feel to it. and your floral image is just too spectacular. What a great card this is, girl!

This is beautiful, Sabrina! I love Asian designs, but find they don't seem to come out the way I envision them usually. This is lovely...may have to case someday!! tfs
