I created a card with the idea of giving the impression of the ball drop that happens in New York on New Years Eve. I wanted to use the SPINNER card technique. Here is what I did:
I used the Baroque Motifs (mistaken for Fabulous Flowers in my post) stamp to make the ball, stamping it on white whisper and embossing with gold detail. Then I filled in the white areas with glitter pen.
I used my cutter board to create the hold in the middle for the spinner since I don't have the window hold punch....and that worked ok. The mount was on glitter card stock and I added some more glitter stickers to fake a fireworks background.
I used my "Rain" stamp upside down to create the fireworks effect. Filling in the drops with silver glitter pen. And on the mounted spinner card I used cardstock that had a diamondy effect in the paper.
It turned out ok but it didn't seem to work well standing up - but it spins kewl held horizontally...
Any ideas on how to improve this idea so that the theme could work with a spinner card?

You could make the spin area zig zag and then it would spin on it's way down. I realize that when the ball drops, it doesn't zig zag, but the person/people receiving the card would get the gist of it.

Too clever. My nine year old was just tonight suggesting something like this, but I could not figure out how to do it. Thanks so much for sharing. Love it.
