So when I saw the technique challenge this morning I was so bummed because I don't have either of the tag punches. I left for work trying to figure out how I could fake it without the punches. All day long.... how am I going to do it...... hmmmm.....
On my way home a light bulb went off..... I have lots and lots of circle punches... I wonder what I could do with them?!?
I used 3 circle punches, a 1 1/4", a 1 3/8", and a 1 1/2". I cut 4 of the 1 1/4", then used the 1 3/8" around the cutouts to make rings and then did the same again with the 1 1/2". I played and played with my little rings and finally came up with a flower shape and glued that down to my vellum. Finally I added back some of the cut away pieces to make it more like a snowflake. I colored over the baja breeze with a glitter gel pen and added dots of stickles to the vellum.
The snowflake is attached to the smaller square with just the rhinestone brad.
I'm pretty pleased with the result... what do you think?
Kathryn
p.s. I've had several people say they want to CASE this. First of all, thanks! Second of all, a hint. Once I had all of my "petals" in place I put a thin bit of glue on the one whole ring and put that down on the petals. This anchors them all down in place in one go, but just be careful not to glue the whole thing down to your surface.

This is very pretty. Very creative to think outside the box. My turn.
