I have seen this technique before, but never done it. Easy peasy! The yellow dry embossed vellum behind the star is painted with morning marigold and old olive so you can see the beautiful pattern, but not within the star...too distracting.

Very pretty card. Love the focal point, but also the scallop edge on the textured vellum with the piercing (? or dotting) following the curve. Love the soft ribbon touch on the side as well.
