What a awesome challenge today, Julia! My mind split, pun intended, in many different directions, but kept coming back to the two elements that make up my card. I'd love to know what you think!
The challenge was HALF an image...I thought pairing my paper doll with this wonderful background stamp from Stampotique would fit perfectly. I used Basic Grey's Mistletoe and Pear papers, the beautiful red/sky brocade and the lucious green. Half of the doll is Cosmo Crickets chicken little sky paper. The paper doll is Limited Edition (medium). I inked the bg with TH di pine needles lightly embossing with clear. WE ARE is TH di walnut stain. I added Basic Grey brads and a shimmery heart brad from Making Memories. The ribbon is sheer in the middle and satin on the edges...you can sort of see through to the JOURNEY/ I matted this card with the brocade and a Brazzill Christmas pack steel blue.
So the background stamp, if you can't read it all says over and over again...We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, but SPIRITUAL beings on a human journey. I love that! We are bigger than this world and this time of year reminds me of this.
Thanks for looking and I'd love to read your thoughts on my card today.
I'm editing to add, the beautiful sky paper on the paper doll is totally washed out by my photo. So please image half the doll with the wispy, airy cloud background she REALLY has!!!

Wow! This is amazing, Susan! I love the saying in the background - how true and what a great reminder! Your half paper-pieced doll is so very creative! Wonderful choice of DPs, too! Outstanding take on the half-baked challenge!
