I'm a bit late, as usual getting to Cindy's tea-party this week - http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2008/...uesday-24.html. I had most of the card made last night but I was frustrated after having waited in the entire day for a DHL delivery which didn't arrive, so I was not feeling creative.
Sorry, Cindy, I only put one snowman on my card!
I punched 3 circles from a lovely textured crinkle paper, and then backed them onto light card so that I could add a bit of shape to the edges with a big embossing tool I added the features to the face, and arms made out of wire. No handy bush here like Faith has :-(. I used an oval punch for the hat brim, and cu the crown myself. I couldn't find the perfect sparkly dark blue card I thought I had, so he was assembled with foam tape onto a piece of DCWV Once Upon A Time, which I thought could represent a tree branch up in the corner. I added a little paper scarf. I love the little punched cardinals I've been seeing flocking everywhere, but we don't have cardinals here (as if we get snowmen that often, either!!), so last night I'd stamped the little bird from Wild About You. But this morning, considering all the punches I'd used for the snowman, I decided to do my regular punched bird, which is just a circle for the head and cut up hearts for the body, wire for the legs.
Not very imaginative, and with the wiry arms I think I'll be keeping this one for DH for fear it might come apart in the post. I got two cards last year that had footprints on the envelopes!!

WOW! Sabrina, I love your card. I was especially drawn to your cardinal. How creative of you to use wire for the branches and the legs of the bird. I thought about Faith too when I was making my card. I almost went out to look for branches, but with the freezing rain that was coming down I decided against it.

No apologies necessary....you could have come to my teaparty with NO snowmen on your card! What a creative little card! Thanks for the lesson on punch birdies! That one is precious..and how clever to use wire for the twigs. An adorable and fun card....
Thanks for coming again and no worries about being late. We are pretty much full time tea partiers! Just noticed you went down with the stripes on the scarf...I agree with you, thats kinda weird! Giggle! Thanks for the link!

Your little bird is quite cute and clever. Thanks for sharing the directions. I thought the other snowman must have gone for another cup of tea. This one looks gorgeous on his own. The wire arms are a great idea!!!
