This is my card for today's LSC, Let it Snow.
Don't look too closely. It's been one of those days - I spilt 95% of my brads on the floor and into my H2O storage, and even with DH helping it took an hour to sort them out. And I shut my finger in the gate, too.
I still haven't managed my Tailor of Gloucester card yet for the DD central theme, so this is Paul Gallico's Snowflake. I love most of his books, though I haven't read any of the Mrs Harris ones. But his cat ones, Thomasina, and Jenny; and The Man who Was Magic, and Snowflake, and The Snow Goose, and The Small Miracle, and Scruffy, and Matilda the Boxing Kangaroo - I love them all.
Anyway, for the LSC we were to use only snowflake DP, only one word, and bling, and monochromatic.
I used some snowflake glitter card and holographic card and managed to get a way better photo than I expected.
The base is made from silver holographic card. I cut a smaller layer of glitter card, attached it with temporary tape and punched out the hole to suspend the snowflake from. Then I punched 2 snowflakes, stuck them together with silver thread between them and attached them to the base. Then I stuck the glitter layer back on permanently. I punched out a little frame using the scallop circle punch, edged it with a silver Sakura Stardust pen and added bling from Kaiser.
I cut and embossed a holographic oval, added a Basic Grey rub-on because
a) I didn't have any really suitable stamps and
b) no way was I going to try stamping a nearly suitable one on holographic card.
Some silver ribbon underneath - DH's suggestion when nothing else we tried looked right. Heresy, in his book, to add ribbon but this time he sanctioned it .
And that was it.

Oh, wow, Sabrina! This is amazing! I love the holographic and glitter papers you used! The rub-on is perfect and the ribbon looks just right, too! Boy, does this is ever shine! Great job!

Okay, here's the question ... do you create your cards before or after work? No one will understand this question except you. Not knowing the answer just yet and not being influenced by any insider information, I must tell you this card is the card of all cards! Love that glitter paper (isnt that like mirricard pape)? This card is so jazzed up and so ready to placed in the mail to get the holiday spirit rolling! Definitely a huge wow factor going on this one, girl!

Anne, here's the answer: I told you we were strictly monitored as to our intake in work. ;-) If the challenges are posted up by my breakfast time, I may think about them in work and do a bit of forward planning; but as my craft room is usually about 14 or 15 C in the morning (59F) these days, I do not venture up here till I get home from work. May I ask how often you see crooked lines and wonky layering on my cards?
The holographic card I think is similar to mirri, but not the glitter snowflake. It's just gritty and glittery.
