Hi Emily, I can see lots of possibilites with this combination...I hope to play again today! Thanks very much for your pretty example.
I used the colors as a backdrop for my fast approaching scene. I loved this massive mantle from B Line Designs and already had the frame cube. My Venetian mirror is stamped on Sahara Sand and embossed with super fine gold. I carved the scrolls with an exacto knife and used mirror paper for the mirror. It actually has a bevel (a happy accident from trying to size the oval I needed)! The mantle was inked with THdi black soot and lightly embossed. I used Copics to color the wood. Recently I was given the stocking stamp (unknown) which was also colored with Copics. I stapled the swag to my mantle...just like the real one in the living room!!! The scottie dog is from a local craftsman. He's stamped directly to paper and then again and popped on zots. SU merry and bright is stamped with Real Red Craft Ink inside the fireplace. Tis the Season (from??? Marah Johnson???) is inked directly to paper with VersaFine olympic green. I used a ribbon in very vanilla and black across the card. My wall is from Memory Box winterberry. I bugged the bottom with the distressed stripes.
I'd love to know what you think of my room...wish I could say my house is so well put together...not yet...been to busy decorating card fronts!!!
check out my blog for other thoughts on the season.

Oh, Ms Joyful, this is just fabulous! Hey, by my count, there's 8 stockings hung by the chimney....hmmmm....I love your mantle and your gilded mirror! Boundless creativity here, that's what I have to say. Too fantastic is this one, my friend! Outstanding creativity on this one, Susan! It's really one great card!
