I made this for Cindy's teapot challenge this week - http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2008/...uesday-22.html . Isn't it a darling teapot?
I don't have any Santa stamps. And I don't even have any really nice origami versions. I could have saved myself some time if I'd remembered I'd looked through all our books last year when I was doing a set of origami ATCs.
So, I fished out an old Christmas source book (Crafter's Design Library, Christmas, published by David & Charles).
I printed Santa onto white, pink, red and green card and did a combination of paper piecing and paper tole. The furry bits on his hat are Fluffy Stuff, and his beard was embossed with D'vine Swirl.
I layered him onto some Bazzill Bling embossed with Snowflakes, and with some of the flakes gone over with clear and silver Sakura stardust pens.
I made a frame with some brown Bazzill. I cut the size I wanted, and on the back drew another frame 1/4 inch inside that, and another line a further 1/8 inch in. I scored along the outer line, and from the intersection of the scores to the corners, and I cut along the inner line. A bit of careful creasing and you get a not bad frame. I added gold wire to the back, and hung it from a copper brad. I titled the portrait and attached the gold name plate with more copper brads.
I made it on time, just a bit out of breath from the rushing so I hope there's plenty to drink.

Mrs. Santa will just love her husband's portrait. She has wanted him to get a picture taken for ever so long. As for the tea, Cindy says the table is set for several days.

Yes, plenty to drink, plenty to satisfy your thirst! Wow, you made a wonderful Santa card with basically no Santa supplies! Its so fun to read about how you got from point A to point B and ended up with this great card! I love the little red berries in his hat and the awesome frame you made! Such a cute Santa!
It worked out even though you fell asleep and forgot your good idea! Oops, you also forgot to use the googlie eyes that you remembered!! Bwahaha! Hey, glad someone else does the same things I do! I go down the stairs to get something and can't remember what it is after about 5 steps!
No worries about the brandy..I will send someone out for some! I would even let you be late! Really late, you're worth the wait!!
