I made this card for the November VSN, “Cabaret”. Our hostess for this hour, Kathy (kkrab5), chose the "Busby Berkeley Dancers" as the inspiration for this challenge.
Kathy included a link to an absolutely amazing clip of a Busby Berkeley dance routine in which dozens and dozens of dancers created elaborate geometric designs in their dance routines. Our task was to create a card using a geometric design as a focal image.
I chose coordinating paper patterns with a subtle geometric pattern and made the design of the card entirely symmetrical. Even the wreath decorating the window is placed centrally over all four panes of the window.
I created an ornate window with medallions cut with the Cuttlebug. The four corners of the main design canvass were also treated with ornate corner embellishments.
Update: You can find detailed instructions for creating windows in cards, both for this card and for a "see thorugh" acetate card similar to this on my blog here:
Paper: White cardstock; Design cardstock, black on white and white on black diamond patterns (Me and My Bog Ideas, PADX-10 #5823 “Black and White Butterfly”)
Ink: Raven Black (ColorBox); Embossing pad (Craft Smart); Embossing Powder “Marcasite” (Stamp-N Stuff by Stampendous)
Accessories: Cuttlebug die cuts, ribbon, gold cord, paper punch (multiple size tags by McGill Craftivity)

Wow, Rose, that is one amazing card! I looks like a stained glass window. You've certainly put a lot of work into this little masterpiece. This is a wonderful entry in my challenge. Thanks for playing! Kathy
