I've never tried the spotlight technique, so this weekend's VSN was the perfect opportunity. I used Hero Arts Collage Gratitude stamped in Dark Brown and clear embossed in ivory cardstock.
To do my highlighted section, I painted the bloom with Prussian Blue chalk ink. With the ink still on the paintbrush, I dipped it into Silver Bells Shimmerz and covered the entire circle. I also painted some ink and shimmerz around the blue mat for a bit more shimmer. Very fun and great way to add interest to a flat card.

wonderful card for the spotlight, Stef! I love, LOVE that color combination. I also enjoyed reading about how you colored the spot...sounds complicated to me though
